Devo: 2 Peter 1:5-7

Many times we jump into the conclusion of love without knowing the details. Many relationships fail because of it. Most teenagers use love based on emotion or feelings. It's sad.
There is more to it, a lot more!

What we know: Christians are given God's divine power to help us live a Godly life.

Now when we apply it daily, our faith will produce a life of moral excellence. So until we live a Godly life we cannot work on our character.

1. Live a Godly life to produce excellence in character.

This then leads to knowing God better. because of what we show, how we act etc we begin to know God deeper because we begin to mirror it. When we know God we are able to operate self control well and effectively.

2. Know God to have self-control

When we enhance self control, we learn to endure and view things positively with it. We begin to enjoy life as it goes.

3. Develop endurance to create Godliness.

v.7 once we create "Godliness" in our life we learn and see the true meaning of love. How to love and when to love.

4. Love is earned through Godliness (anything rooted in God)

Bottom line: don't rush. Take your time in knowing God better and knowing yourself in Him before you get into the act of falling in "love."
This is the process we all should take before we say we love. Love is more than it's meaning. Let's keep it gold.

In application, I will make sure to get the process done. When i fall in love, I want it to be pure, real and rooted in God :)
